Eighty5 Cigars—Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson’s cigar company—has moved its fulfillment operations from Sutliff to City of Palms Distribution Services.
“Our commitment to excellence and unmatched quality is at the heart of every cigar we produce,” said Frank Edmonds III, ceo of Eighty5 Cigars, in a press release. “This partnership with City of Palms Cigar Distribution is a pivotal step towards ensuring our customers can enjoy Chad’s cigars with even greater ease and satisfaction.”
City of Palms Distribution Services is led by Kevin and Anne Dinkins. The company aims to provide backend logistic services to smaller companies, this includes importing, bonded warehousing, inventory control, invoicing, shipping, payment processing, commission processing and monthly reporting.
One thing City of Palms doesn’t do for Eighty5 is actually sell the cigars to retailers. That is handled by independent sales brokers; Eighty5 says it is expanding its roster of brokers to include 13 people.
The move from Sutliff to City of Palms took effect this month. In addition to the change of distribution, the company says that it has fully restocked its entire portfolio, meaning retailers shouldn’t have any issue getting cigars.
Johnson launched Eighty5 in 2016. The name is a reference to 85, the jersey number he wore during his NFL career, which included three first-team All Pro seasons Since retiring, the former wide receiver has been active on social media, where he is often seeing enjoying a cigar.
