A new addition to the Plasencia Cosecha 149 line is on the way to stores.
The Cosecha 149 Cortez is a 5 3/4 x 56 figurado with an MSRP of $18.90 per cigar that is being sold in 10-count boxes. The Honduran puro is being rolled at the company’s Tabacos de Oriente factory in Honduras and uses the same tobacco as the rest of the Cosecha 149 line that debuted in 2021: the wrapper is grown in Olancho, San Agustín, while the binder is from the Jamastran Valley and the tobaccos in the filler were sourced from the Jamastran Valley, Olancho and Talanga.
With the addition of the Cortez, the Cosecha 149 is now offered in four regular production sizes:
- Plasencia Cosecha 149 Santa Fe (4 3/4 x 60) — $12 (Box of 10, $120)
- Plasencia Cosecha 149 La Vega (5 x 52) — $13 (Box of 10, $130)
- Plasencia Cosecha 149 Azacualpa (6 x 52) — $14.50 (Box of 10, $145)
- Plasencia Cosecha 149 Cortez (5 3/4 x 56) — $18.90 (Box of 10, $189)
The 149 in the line’s name refers to the 2014 tobacco harvest, which was the family’s 149th crop. Plasencia has used the same naming scheme with two previous lines: the discontinued Plasencia Cosecha 146 and the Cosecha 151, which was released late last year.
