The taste of this “Robusto” is very similar to that of Don Alejandro, but, of course, with a shorter length. Its taste half way between medium and strong is balanced in great harmony with subtle sweet, woody and earthy notes.
Review #121: SEP 23 Had one of these recently from a box I bought at LCDH. Very nice construction, very smooth smoke, if a bit on the mild side. Still an excellent smoke from start to finish. I think they will benefit greatly from aging. – Submitted by aescobar on April 30, 2024
Review #120: To this day one of the best smokes I tried were handrolled cigars from the plantation in Pinar Del Rio region of Cuba, and I found Famosos to be the most similar to the cigars from the plantation. Medium to full bodied, burning time around 70 minutes, great stick – Submitted by kvadranti on December 10, 2020
Review #119: Heinrich,
I gave it a 9, as you would have seen had you read my review. I cannot be held accountable for the information I submit not being accurately recorded. I was as mystified as you to see my 9 become a 3, I assure you. – Submitted by Vortigan on October 15, 2019
Review #118: Just giving a 10 to compensate reviewers like Vortigan that give an incompreensible 4/10 to this very very good cigar. VR flavours for 75 minutes of a cosy and relaxing smoke. – Submitted by Heinrich on August 4, 2019
Review #117: MAY 16 This was a great smoke! Lovely appearance with a just oily enough Colorado wrapper that had just a little bit of tooth to it.Pretty much from the first light it was like smoking a bowlful of your favourite chocolate breakfast cereal from when you were kid, including the milk. Straight on medium and as I went into the second half there was a really nice pastry flavour coming in, perhaps a pain au chocolat. All of this underpinned with fantastic, quality tobacco flavours. There was just a slight touch of grassiness now and again which perhaps hints at the cigar being a couple of years yet from its absolute apex, although it was by no means that bitter grassiness that screams of youth so it may well just be a blend characteristic. I’m calling it a 91 though and all in all it was a very mellow way to spend some downtime on a lovely Spring afternoon, accompanied with a vanilla latte and the genius of Buckethead. – Submitted by Vortigan on April 23, 2019
